About The Position

SUMMARY: The Mail Room Clerk primarily sorts incoming mail for distribution and dispatches outgoing mail. This incumbent must maintain confidentiality as this position may have access to payments, Protected Health Information, or information of a sensitive nature. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Works on site with consistent attendance. Collect, sort, and distribute mail according to destination, type, department etc., such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, claims, and payments. Open envelopes by hand or machine. Stamp date and time of receipt on incoming mail. Readdress undeliverable mail bearing incomplete or incorrect address. Examine outgoing mail for appearance and seal envelopes by hand or machine. Fold letters or circulars and insert in envelopes. Weigh mail to determine correct postage. Stamp outgoing mail by hand or with postage meter. Drop off and pick up mail at the postal office box, if necessary. Deliver certified mail to the post office to get stamped for proof of mailing. Keep record of registered mail. Prepare packages for shipping and coordinates pick up and delivery with carriers. Receive, stock, and distribute supply orders. Complete projects given from all departments, including sorting and mailing packages and letters on a timely basis. Make copies of billing statements, insert in envelopes, and mail to recipient. Mail FSA and student verifications notices. Sort and group incoming claims for distribution. Handle all incoming checks, sort and deliver to the proper accounting personnel daily. Sort check runs and EOB’s manually; insert in envelopes and mail on a timely basis (3 day turnaround). Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Valid, class C license in state working with no adverse driving record.
  • Maintain minimum legal auto insurance requirements.
