Performs standard clerical duties, including sorting of mail, answering telephones, returning calls, copying and mailing correspondence. Sorts, delivers and picks up mail for departments throughout Kaweah Health’s downtown campus or as directed by your supervisor. Performs all file maintenance and data entry using department computer applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Basic clerical and filing experience
  • Computer and 10-key experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and walk long distances.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standard clerical duties, including answering telephones, returning calls, copying and mailing correspondence.
  • Sorts, delivers and picks up mail for departments throughout Kaweah Health’s downtown campus or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Responsible for timely pick-up and delivery of all flat and parcel mail. This is inclusive of any delivery that has been received via the mailroom; Examples are, but not limited to USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon. All mail received should be distributed to appropriate areas within 48 hours.
  • Able to operate all computer and office equipment.
  • Able to perform all file maintenance and data entry using department computer applications.
  • Handles all returned mail that relates to patient accounts. Able to identify claim number and notate account in billing system.
  • Ensures labeled correspondence is scanned into EDM system.
  • Preps correspondence related to patient accounts, i.e., requests for additional information, doctors first reports, X-ray reports, billing, rebilling, refunds, requests for itemized statements, insurance billing information.
  • Receives CMS/Regulatory correspondence and will code and scan into EDM system. All CMS/Regulatory correspondence should be completed within 24 hours.
  • During downtime, helps with purchasing function or other Materials Management functions.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
