About The Position

BrightKey is looking for an experienced Mail Clerk & Driver in Annapolis Junction, MD ! If you are organized, have excellent attention to detail, and are passionate about ensuring smooth mail operations, we'd love to hear from you. This individual will be responsible for screening, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, as well as driving and making regular runs for mail pickup and delivery. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient mail operations and support the administrative needs of the organization. Key Information: Schedule : Monday – Friday Hours : First Shift, 7:30am to 4:00pm Pay rate : $24.00-26.00 per hour Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, and Paid Time Off Location : Annapolis Junction, MD 20701 Ideal Experience for the Mail Clerk & Driver Position: Professional driving experience with companies such as FedEx, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) or similar organizations that handle mail/parcel deliveries Experience in handling and/or sorting mail and packages Corporate mail room experience Current DOT Certificate (preferred) Security Clearance – Ideally current or former Public Trust level or higher (not mandatory but highly preferred)

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (Public Trust)
  • Ability to lift and carry mail and packages up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with local streets and neighborhoods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Mail Handling & Distribution: Receive, screen, and sort incoming mail and packages to ensure accurate and timely delivery to recipients within the office.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including ensuring proper labeling, postage, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with courier services and shipping carriers as needed.
  • Post Office Runs: Conduct scheduled trips to and from client sites to pick up and deliver mail.
  • Handle specialized mailing tasks such as certified mail, bulk mail, or priority shipments.
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mail and package receipts, deliveries, and outgoing shipments.
  • Track and report any delivery issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Operational Support: Maintain mailroom supplies, including envelopes, postage meters, and shipping materials.
  • Ensure the mailroom is organized and clean, complying with safety and security standards.
  • Assist with other administrative or office support tasks as assigned.
