About The Position

Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Machinist at our Osakis, MN facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong machining experience, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment. This position is on 1st shift. The hours are 6:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday

Requirements

  • Must have 3+ years of experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ITAR ONLY
  • The business site where this position is located is an ITAR-compliant operation. Due to ITAR regulations, Ichor Systems is only able to employ US Persons. A US person is a lawful permanent resident (immigrant with “green card” permanent authorization to work document) or who is a protected person (a citizen, a national, a refugee, or a person granted asylum). Non-citizens with other visas are not eligible for hire at this location.

Nice To Haves

  • Can perform basic set-ups on multiple machines.
  • Ability to train CNC Operators and Machinists I on routine tasks.
  • Developing proficiency with complex setups.
  • Ability to perform intermediate troubleshooting procedures.
  • Proficient with part inspection techniques (comparator, profilometer etc.).
  • 2-year machining degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers. Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
