The Machinist is a key member of the team, they are needed for the fabrication of machined components during all phases of tooling projects, research and development, and production. The machinist will machine components required for dies, molds, CNC fixtures, assembly fixtures, automation fixtures, and prototypes samples as needed. The machinist will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and adjusting and reprogramming controls while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. The machinist will achieve these tasks by using a combination of manual and programable Tool Room equipment like manual lathe, Bridgeport mill, grinding equipment, CNC equipment, and others.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as machinist.
  • High school diploma is required
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to perform part inspection with measurement instruments.
  • Must possess basic machinist tools knowledge; micrometers, calipers etc.
  • Must be well organized in storing and retrieving programs.
  • Knowledge of electronics and machine tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in CNC programming, computer-related field, a mechanical field OR a certification from an accredited technical school is preferred.
  • Experience with programming / ESPRIT software knowledge, preferred but not required
  • Experience with servicing stamping dies, preferred but not required
  • Experience with programming / Haas VMC and Sodic wire EDM machines a plus, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Operate variety of CNC and manual machines to manufacture specialty parts.
  • Perform quality checks on components and verify that they meet specification.
  • Effective communication with co-workers.
  • Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests.
  • Simplifies tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the company.
  • Analyzes and selects speeds and feeds of cutting tools for machining programs and wire EDM paths.
