About The Position

At Jasper Electric Motors, the Machinist plays a critical role in producing high-quality, precision components that support our operations. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual machining equipment, including lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines. The Machinist will manufacture, repair, and modify mechanical parts and equipment while applying knowledge of machining practices, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout techniques. This role may also involve maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and tooling to ensure optimal performance. Additional duties and special projects may be assigned by the supervisor. Responsibilities may evolve based on operational, safety, or environmental needs.

Responsibilities

Setting up and operating manual machining equipment (lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines)
Manufacturing, repairing, and modifying mechanical parts and equipment
Maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and tooling
Applying knowledge of machining practices, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout techniques
Additional duties and special projects as assigned
