About The Position

Machinist The Opportunity: When aircraft modifications are needed, machinists turn ideas into reality. We are looking for an experienced machinist to join our team as we support our client’s flight test mission. You’ll be depended upon to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You’ll apply basic principles, theories, and concepts of engineering and work in partnership with mechanical and avionics engineers to create key component upgrades. Solve problems in the physical world by cutting, bending, and welding. Join us. The world can't wait.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the machinist field
• Experience in the safe operation of fabrication shop equipment such as manual lathes, mills, grinders, and saws
• Experience in the safe operation of CNC lathes and mills
• Experience using other hand tools, such as edge and center finders, deburring tools, taps and dies, countersinks, reamers, drill bits, inserts or helicoils, and go gauges
• Experience using CAD and CAM, including analyzing those software files to incorporate into machine programming and setting up and monitoring the CAM production process, and intervening when problems arise
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings with GD&T
• Ability to execute machining techniques, select tooling requirements, and formulate sequencing and set up fixtures to produce conforming fabrications
• Ability to inspect finished parts for flaws and defects using a wide variety of measuring equipment, such as calipers-vernier, dial or digital, micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

• Associate’s degree in a Machining Technology field
• Machinist Certification
• Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
