The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $22.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Machinist! Are you passionate about Machining? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Metal Finishing Operations department. As a Machinist, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job, you will primarily be responsible for operating automated and manual machines as part of a sheet metal processing cell. Machines include automated punching, forming and laser cutting machines as well as manual and automated hydraulic press brakes. You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and a full range of motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to use or learn how to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, protractors and tape measures.
  • Ability to learn machine controls and programs
  • High School diploma / GED

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of machinist and manufacturing experience a plus
  • Experience with set-up and operation of computer-controlled punching, cutting, forming machines, or press brakes

Responsibilities

  • Use of computer-controlled sheet metal processing machines to produce of high-quality parts by reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
  • Using simple material handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle sheet-metal stock ranging from 30 lbs. to 150 lbs.
  • Inspecting parts using various measurement tools.
