About The Position

Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in a transforming industry? We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our 2nd shift team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating both CNC and manual equipment along with the ability to program, document and inspect the components produced. This role involves maintaining material flow in a fast-paced production environment, ensuring component quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Some machining experience, including the ability to set up/operate preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of machining practices, tooling, drafting, CNC machines, controls, programming, measuring equipment, and techniques.
  • Willingness to learn programming CNC lathes and VMC machines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic CNC operating issues.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills as well as basic math skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school/military training or comparable related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC lathe/vertical machining centers, manual machines (lathes, mills, drill presses etc.) and measuring equipment to produce quality parts within deadlines.
  • Inspect parts, tooling, and material to specifications.
  • Maintain area, equipment, and tooling in safe, clean, and satisfactory operating condition.
  • Monitor work to ensure that machines are functioning properly.
  • Learn to convert designs and drawings into code programming language for CNC equipment and validate programs to established specifications.
  • Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, or descriptions of parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of pieces to be machined, sequence of operations, and machines needed.
