About The Position

SUMMARY Sets up and operates various machining equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to, steel saws, buffers, threaders, and other types of drilling machines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reads blueprints and process sheets and selects proper steel, tooling, and equipment to make product. Makes calculations if necessary. Makes calculations as needed to determine if product is within specifications and tolerances. Selects and utilizes fixtures if available. Selects proper equipment, including tooling, fixtures, and accessories to complete tasks, when applicable. Operates equipment, adjusting machine settings as necessary to produce quality parts while meeting production schedules. Utilizes various measuring tools to verify quality. Loads and unloads raw material and completed product, at times with overhead hoist. Performs and documents level 1 TPMs. Works in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 1-3 months related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or additional related education preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
