About The Position

TEAM UP WITH US! The Machinist Trainee is responsible for learning all tasks to be a Machinist. This position will work under supervision, and although does not have the immediate skills to complete all tasks, must have the skill set to learn and become proficient with in a 6-month time period. The Machinist Trainee will learn to be responsible for setting up and operating manually controlled machines; skilled precision and bench work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools and equipment DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Commitment to safe, quality workmanship.
Ability to accept and apply instructions in various formats.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and other employees.
Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints.
Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics and composites.
Properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
Recognize, deploy and use inserts, fixtures and tooling.
Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
Ability to track parts and jobs into the vantage system.
Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
