What You’ll Do Advanced Machining & Repair Set up and operate manual and/or CNC equipment (lathes, mills, boring mills, grinders, etc.) to machine, repair, or recondition pump parts and industrial components. Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, tolerances, and specifications to execute complex work. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other metrology tools. Diagnose machining challenges and determine proper methods, tooling, and sequencing to meet specifications. Perform pump component repairs including shafts, sleeves, casings, wear rings, impellers, and related parts. Technical Leadership Serve as a go-to technical resource for less experienced machinists. Assist with job planning, work sequencing, and estimating machining time. Support supervisors and coordinators with technical input on repair feasibility and machining approach. Identify quality or process issues and proactively recommend solutions. Quality & Safety Ensure all work meets quality, dimensional, and documentation requirements. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture. Support inspections, first-article checks, and final verification as required. Shop & Continuous Improvement Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas in good working order. Assist with troubleshooting machine issues and coordinating repairs. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, quality, and workflow. Support cross-functional coordination with welding, assembly, inspection, and operations teams. What You Bring Experience & Skills 7+ years of hands-on machining experience in a job shop, repair shop, or industrial manufacturing environment. Strong experience with manual machining; CNC experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle complex, non-routine machining and repair work. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fits, tolerances, and materials. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Experience machining pump components or rotating equipment is strongly preferred. Attributes High level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail. Problem-solver who can think through repairs and machining strategy. Dependable, safety-minded, and quality-driven. Willingness to mentor and support junior machinists. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment. Physical & Work Environment Regular standing, bending, lifting, and working around industrial machinery.
