Make Things That Matter Machinist – Mill Job Location: Gorham, Maine Environment: Climate-Controlled Shop, Employee-Owned Shift Schedule 4x10s 6AM – 4PM, Monday-Thursday Overtime Friday Half-Day Overtime Optional Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Reports To: Lathe and Mill Supervisors Job Type / Status: Fulltime, Non-exempt Small Shop. Requirements

  • Must be able to set up repeat jobs on our production machines which may include lathes, grinders, mills and similar equipment.
  • Specifically: Loading Programs Loading Cutting Tools Loading fixtures and vices Cutting or boring jaws
  • Must be able to apply mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and interpret the design intent and plan setup accordingly.
  • Physical ability to operate machines
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Set-Up following prints and specifications.
  • Inspect and measure your finished parts to ensure they meet the blueprint, identifying any setup-related issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain precise quality documentation, taking pride in the paperwork that proves your station is running at peak performance.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly production area.
  • Engage in a collaborative environment, that values the exchange of skills and ideas.
