About The Position

Tyonek Services Group will augment services provided by Air Force military personnel to modify, maintain, inspect, control corrosion, overhaul, repair, regenerate and store various weapon systems, related components, missiles, engines, ground support equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Must be able to interpret written instructions, technical data, engineering drawings, and specifications to plan and lay out machining operations required for the fabrication, restoration, and modification of landing-gear components.
  • Must be able to use Machinist hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and standard machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and related equipment-to produce metal parts to the close tolerances required for aircraft landing-gear systems.
  • Must be able to perform machining computations involving dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements; apply knowledge of the working properties of common metals; and select appropriate materials, parts, and equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to fit, assemble, and verify the proper function of machined components within landing-gear assemblies and ensure all work complies with applicable technical orders, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Must receive work assignments from Government supervision/leads and delegate to Contractor personnel according to skillset and ensure contract employees are certified and/or trained for assigned work. Provide assignment of duties no-later-than 15 minutes after the daily shift stand-up.
  • Must be able to provide comprehensive machine-shop training, typically obtained through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable T1 background investigation
