As a Machinist III with PCB Piezotronics, Inc, you will work from drawings and/or written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts. This position will be supporting either 2nd or 3rd shift.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or GED
  • BOCES Machine Shop classes; or Skilled trade school graduate

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of machine shop experience
  • Shop math skills
  • Blue print reading skills
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in order of operations

Responsibilities

  • Operate machine(s) in at least one work center and gaining knowledge to operate multiple machines in multiple work centers. Performs specific machinist functions. Must be able to set up and troubleshoot machines.
  • Ability to prove out new part programs for production.
  • Provides instruction and training to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.
  • Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary.
  • Makes tool offsets as required.
  • Completes preventative maintenance as required.
  • Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
