About The Position

Responsibilities Set up and run CNC machine (Makino’s/Okuma’s) holding tight tolerances as low as +/- .002. Ability to interact with computer-based controllers to enter or edit job offsets/programs. Operations performed include, but are not limited to, indicating of fixtures, offsetting of fixtures, milling, drilling, and grinding (of interior diameter) while maintaining specific tolerances and measurements. In addition to machining, operator also air weighs and uses CNC etching machine to etch permanent serial number on discs following each machining cycle. Work must be completed within specific timeframes depending on production schedules. Processes also involve using, reading, and interpreting gages such as, but not limited to, hand gages, hard gages, CMM's, and touch-off probes to complete and validate work. Understand and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and operating instructions before and while running operations. Inspect parts, ensuring product meets specified quality standards. Responsible to complete related quality documents/work instructions upon completion of tasks. Demonstrate safe work habits. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner using the standard work outlined for the area. As a team member, demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems leading to continual process improvements and effectiveness of the team. Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE High School graduate or equivalent experience Due to Federal regulations, candidate must be either a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident 3+ years experience of setting up & operating CNC equipment In lieu of 3 years of set-up & operation experience, an associates machining technology degree is acceptable. Computer skills that demonstrate the ability to use CNC interfaces to read, run and edit computer-based machine job programs Math skills that demonstrate a basic understanding of arithmetic Basic reading and writing skills Ability to read and understand blueprints and measuring gages Ability to lift up to 35 pounds Possesses solid teaming and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and can follow written, verbal, standard work instructions Good time-management skills Ability to focus on quality while executing job tasks The annual base pay for this position is $31.14/hour to start, $31.64/hour after qualifying, with a $0.75/hour differential for 2nd/3rd shift.
