JOB TITLE: MACHINIST II PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MACHINIST II Capable of learning and operating several work centers safely within the machinist area based on instructions from the leadership team with moderate supervision/guidance. Perform the machining of test specimens and parts as instructed. Operate manual and CNC equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Daily simple maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment. Inform supervision of all safety and quality concerns as needed. Perform all other duties/projects assigned, including the possibility to move outside of the machinist area to support business needs. REQUIRED FOR THE MACHINIST II High school diploma or GED required. Vocational school or Machinist Apprenticeship preferred. Two or more years of experience. Working knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures. Working knowledge of shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques. Understand safe operation of all equipment needed to perform the job. Experience with Okuma, Kellenberger, DCM, Toyoda, Hurco, Mitsubishi, Okamoto, Jones and Shipman preferred. CNC programming preferred Basic knowledge of continuous improvement concepts. Responds to customer needs; seeks guidance on issues outside own area. Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines. Works with others within own area or department to achieve team goals through expanded knowledge and skills. Ability to operate a personal computer and the related hardware and software, to lift and move test coupons weighing up to 50 lbs, to be a team player and promote continuous improvement, to work in a production-oriented environment, and to work with direct supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Mechanical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
