This position will machine components by operating various machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Experience in fast paced industrial environment.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience as a Machinist I or equivalent experience. Completion of technical training in Machining or Mechanics preferred.
  • Basic and advanced math skills (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions. ratios, proportions) Geometry and trigonometry is a plus.
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of technical training in Machining or Mechanics preferred.
  • Geometry and trigonometry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various CNC machines.
  • Set up and adjust fixtures, cutting tools, and make tooling offsets on machines.
  • Utilize blueprint specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and setup requirements.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications via first piece inspection, automated where applicable.
  • Measure mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining as required.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Use hand-help precision instruments to verify quality: CMM(s), Hommell, Profilometer, micrometers, calipers, and other gauge types.
  • Adjust as necessary to maintain quality parts within control limits for SPC
  • Interpret departmental automated measurement reports and confer with technical team members and leadership to resolve machining issues.
  • Cleaning and organizing of work areas (5S standards).
  • Read and understand internal procedures and policies.
  • Manual recovery of in cell robotics, move to home position, etc.
  • Transport material as required using proper handling methods.
  • Keep work area in orderly condition with respect to proper materials, tools, equipment, and personal belongings. (Includes cleaning of equipment, floors, tables, etc.)
  • Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
