About The Position

Our team is looking to add an experienced Machinist to our talented group in Evansville! The Machinist will safely operate basic to moderately complex machines (lathes and mills) to produce parts as well as clean and inspect complete parts. The experienced Machinist will also operate more independently, with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of machinist experience
  • Experience with computers and Windows-based software.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to routine duties within set company standards.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklift trucks, and other equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Mastercam 2D software or equivalent is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Train and provide guidance to less experienced machinists.
  • Operate large and small mills and lathes.
  • CNC machines - create, review, edit, upload programs to both CNC lathes and mills with assistance as needed
  • Understand materials and their various applications to complete job.
  • Set up machine with raw materials and secure for safe machine operation with assistance.
  • Set up tooling specific to job scope with assistance.
  • Perform a dry run or convey a process plan of the job to ensure machine will produce parts specific to job scope.
  • When operating CNC equipment read basic G-code and M-code.
  • Constantly monitor machine to ensure the manufacture of accurate components per job specifications.
  • Clean, de-bur, and inspect finished parts to ensure they were manufactured to specifications.
  • Use measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizings on each specific job.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correct and according to job scope.
  • Record materials used throughout the process including types and varieties.
  • Record data throughout the process, including sizings and illustrations, for proper ISO documentation.
  • Use various handheld and stationary power and non-power tools as needed including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, and files.
  • Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and observe safety precautions.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
