The Manual Machinist I is responsible for setting up and operating various manual Mills and Lathes. In this role, you will be expected to identify and use proper tools, gages, and equipment for the process. You will be responsible for understanding various work processes and performing various machining operations within the Manual Machining group. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience interpreting engineering prints, Machining experience, and machine set up experience, including tool touch offs and fixture installation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operating Bridgeport Mills, Engine Lathes, Turret Lathes, and Grinders

Responsibilities

  • Review sample parts, blueprints, and engineering data to define fabrication processes and support quality and engineering teams with troubleshooting.
  • Required to operate multiple machines in various machining work centers
  • Make offsets based on inspection of parts in accordance to print specifications/instructions.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
  • Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and various other measuring instruments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and follow general housekeeping (5S+) standard and autonomous maintenance tasks.
  • Interpret print datum structure and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
