About The Position

TTM Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of technology solutions including engineered systems, radio frequency ("RF") components and RF microwave/microelectronic assemblies, and quick-turn and technologically advanced printed circuit boards ("PCBs"). The Machinist is responsible for programming and operating equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience with CNC drilling in the printed circuit board industry or any similar related industry skills
  • Knowledgeable with calipers and micrometers; blue print reading.
  • Ability to cross train and become certified in most (or all) operations in the department.
  • Must have the following traits and attitudes: accountable, adaptable, confident, coordinated, cross-trainable, handles stress effectively, positive attitude, helpful, goal oriented, organized, patient, and responsible.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • A working knowledge of milling, drilling, and machining equipment such as FADAL, Schmoll, Excellon Machines and X-Ray Registration Systems such as the Pluritech is helpful
  • Ability to complete sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to generate simple programs for a conversational control system on a 3 axis vertical milling machine.

Responsibilities

  • Operate routing machines by obtaining the correct program, verifying the panel count, obtaining the correct tools, loading the machine, routing/optical gauge (OGP) 1st piece, verifying panel count, conducting final clean, and completing lot in shop floor control system.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot minor mechanical malfunctions.
  • Perform operator maintenance by complying with individual machine procedures, facilitating access to equipment by maintenance personnel, and practicing good housekeeping.
  • Mentor less experienced operators.
  • Meet production requirements by following the dispatch list, working to meet daily production goals, participating in shift crossovers, assisting the technician and supervisor with work flow, and working to increase level of personal/ module productivity.
  • Meet Quality Requirements by completing necessary training and certifications, conforming to ISO procedures, maintaining continued operation of machines, utilizing proper handling methods, following material review board process, recognizing quality issues, following applicable processes, recognizing specific registration or scaling issues, and increasing level of personal/ module quality.
  • Meet safety requirements by wearing required personal protective equipment, following general housekeeping guidelines, and adhering to cardinal rules of safety.
  • Operate miscellaneous equipment such as the laser drill, scope, bevel, and oven.
  • Begin to run cross functions within department such as operating routing machines.
  • Participates in departmental or company-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as resource for less experienced personnel and accepts additional responsibilities.
  • Consistent record or high Productivity and Quality.
