About The Position

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. The Machinist Assistant is a proactive team player dedicated to keeping our machine shop running smoothly. Their main responsibilities include managing inventory efficiently and the staging of parts.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Eager to learn from and collaborate with a diverse team
• Capable of bending, turning, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours as needed
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Label boxes of parts with part number, job number and quantity
• Put parts on staging racks; not to exceed shelf capacity.
• Pull appropriate parts from racks for machining.
• Consolidate parts on skids or in boxes as needed.
• Unbox parts, remove packaging keeping the work area clean and clear of debris.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of staging area.
• Conduct daily checks on forklift and abide by all safety standards.
• Load parts into machines when appropriate.
• Special projects as assigned.
