About The Position

GE Aerospace Terre Haute The Terre Haute site is comprised of two facilities – component manufacturing and assembly – of complex combustors & structures engineered for commercial and military aircraft engines. A few reasons to consider us: Quarterly performance based bonus up to $1300 every quarter (4x/year) 10% pay differential for 2nd/3rd shift Healthcare Benefits eligible on day one of employment Monthly employee engagement events 12 annual paid holidays; vacation eligible at day 30 of employment Climate-controlled building out of the elements Tuition reimbursement benefit Essential Responsibilities: Runs product as required Completes machine set-up Loads tool and tool holders as required Jaw cutting and re-cutting Sets fixture offsets as required Verifies correct tool hardware, tool diameter, tool radius, drill length and end mills Verifies accuracy of tool offset changes as needed Perform periodic inspections of calibration Read and process parts and visual braze inspection Maintains accurate work records Utilizes precision measuring instruments to inspect parts Willingness to support team concept and learn/perform other duties as required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Currently enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College Machining Program Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills Read, understand and utilize procedures, sketches, and blueprints as well as perform basic mathematical calculations Have working knowledge of precision measuring equipment and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment Communicate effectively and professionally with others, both written and verbal Follow and promote safe work practices Support lean initiatives Lift light to medium weight in an environment that may occasionally require crouching, stooping and / or awkward work positions Willingness to support team concept and learn / perform other duties as required Milling and Turning experience GE Aerospace offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College Machining Program
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Read, understand and utilize procedures, sketches, and blueprints as well as perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Have working knowledge of precision measuring equipment and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Runs product as required
  • Completes machine set-up
  • Loads tool and tool holders as required
  • Jaw cutting and re-cutting
  • Sets fixture offsets as required
