About The Position

We’re seeking a Machinist A for a highly experienced professional who operates with precision, autonomy, and accountability. This role is designed for someone who can independently set up, program, and run both CNC and manual equipment while consistently meeting tight tolerances in a production-driven environment. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work, solve complex machining challenges, and contribute to process improvements that elevate overall shop performance. Based in our Easton, PA facility, the Machinist A will play a critical role in ensuring precision, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our fabrication operations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of machining experience in a production environment
  • Strong experience with CNC machines, manual mills, and lathes
  • Ability to set up jobs from scratch—not just run pre-set programs
  • Working knowledge of G-code and conversational programming
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter mindset—you don’t need someone looking over your shoulder
  • Ability to think ahead, prioritize work, and stay productive during machine cycles
  • Solid math and basic computer/ERP skills
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to mentor others and share knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HAAS machines (strongly preferred)
  • Exposure to program editing and light programming (Mastercam a plus, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes) with little to no prior instruction
  • Edit programs, adjust offsets, and perform conversational and G-code programming as needed
  • Develop and optimize machine setups for new and existing jobs
  • Perform first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments to maintain production flow
  • Design and build fixtures and tooling to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Maximize productivity by managing time effectively while machines are running
  • Maintain tooling, including sharpening and preventative care
  • Accurately complete job documentation within the ERP system
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce waste
  • Mentor and support junior machinists (B & C levels) to elevate team capability
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Participate in team communication and continuous improvement discussions (Gemba)
