Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years lathe and mill experience.
  • Experience with Haas and Mazak equipment required.
  • Must be able to program most parts, including parts with complex designs.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess basic math skills, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication and division in all units of measure, including proficiency with geometry and trigonometry for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
  • Must have strong command of blueprint reading including an understanding of engineering drawings and understanding/interpreting customer specifications.
  • Must have working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used for machining.
  • Must have strong work ethic, professional attitude, be detail oriented as well as reliable.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer CNC Machine Operator Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set-up and operate computer controlled lathes and mills to fabricate metal parts.
  • Study and interpret drawings, shop manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Identify required tooling, set gauges, and perform machine set-up based on job requirements.
  • Program CNC lathes and mills based on part drawings.
  • Manufacture parts as outlined on drawings and part specifications.
  • Inspect parts to confirm conformance to specifications.
  • Perform daily and monthly maintenance tasks.
