About The Position

Supervise the 2nd shift Machine Shop employees while also operating a variety of machinery and equipment, including CNC, to process work pieces to print or job order specifications. Troubleshoot and develop solutions to product and manufacturing problems.

Requirements

  • Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to modify and rewrite CNC programs
  • Understanding of basic metallurgy and materials

  • Basic math, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc.

  • Ability to run multiple machines and work in a variety of work centers.

  • Requires a strong, related work history.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritize work for each employee in assigned areas
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding due dates per the weekly project schedule
  • Maintain a steady efficient throughput of work based on the project schedule
  • Operate CNC and manual machines in machining work centers
  • Work with Planning, Engineering, and other Plant leaders to overcome obstacles and improve processes
  • Responsible for providing a clean area that is safe and organized
  • Responsible for maintaining the correct amount of consumables and operating supplies
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all members of the Company
  • Develop machining processes and improvements with associated departments
  • Maintain knowledge and skills in the cutting edge of machining cutting technology
  • Train and develop machining skills for employees
  • Maintain and train on the skills of supervision and leadership
  • Manage and maintain the department in the absence of the Plant Manager
  • Work along with employees as needed to meet due dates
  • Work extended hours to meet due dates when necessary
  • Responsible for completing employee performance reviews for assigned bay(s)
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all machined parts produced per print from assigned operators
  • Monitor stock Inventory levels
  • Perform recommendations for engineering design
  • Perform conflict resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
