About The Position

We make an extraordinary product. Some might say it defies gravity! As our 2nd Shift Machining Lead, you’ll manage the CNC equipment that allows us to build our gravity-defying products. You’ll ensure our equipment is operating at optimal levels and our machining team is trained and meeting our tight tolerances. You’ll make an immediate impact manufacturing operations by: Acting as the first point of contact for questions and troubleshooting related to the machining process (you’ll be the go-to expert for your team!) Training, leading, mentoring, and motivating the machining team Assuring manufacturing and quality control programs are followed to ensure the finished products meet our quality demands and standards Being the go-to, subject matter expert, for all machining questions and troubleshooting Oversee the operations to ensure machines are working properly and being maintained. Work with maintenance to prevent and reduce time on machines

Requirements

  • 4+ years of CNC machining experience and machine shop mathematics
  • 4+ years of experience with precision grinding
  • 1+ years of experience training and mentoring team members in a machining environment
  • In depth knowledge of various machining measuring and inspection tools, gauges and dial calipers
  • Ability to read part drawings
  • Have strong troubleshooting, team building, decision making and people management skills
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Thrive in seeing your team succeed and have the ability to bring out the best in people
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to work well with technical and non-technical people
  • Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations
  • Be obsessed with continuous improvement and not afraid to try new things
  • Comfortable working in an industrial plant environment and being hands-on and frequently active on the plant floor
  • Have a start-up mentality and be energized at the idea of wearing multiple hats and holistically managing processes
  • Be professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible and well-organized
  • Be results driven and of unquestionable integrity
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office products
