Summary/General Description of Job: Under direction of the Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for operation and maintenance of buildings to include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, HVAV and all other building related systems.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum four years (4) years’ Apprentice Program preferred,
  • Minimum four years (4) years' directly related experience:
  • Experience shall include:
  • producing unique replacement and new parts as needed,
  • interpreting plans, specifications, illustrations,
  • use of hand tools and precision measuring devices,
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on pumps, blowers, air handlers, air compressors

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations of building systems on center.
  • Cleans, oils, makes repairs to equipment.
  • Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of operation.
  • Replaces obsolete equipment.
  • Plans, organizes work, and meets all deadlines. Ability to do a variety of tasks in any single day.
  • Responds to emergency site maintenance as required.
  • Ability to inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
  • Performs on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with safety practices and procedures.
  • Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
  • Performs duties such as, but not limited to: shop area clean up.
  • Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
  • Performs periodic stock inventories and request material requisitions for replacement items as required.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and/or other equipment.
  • Assists and supports other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.
  • Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related work as required or assigned.
