About The Position

SUMMARY: The Youth Apprentice - Machining will shadow a skilled machinist to learn machining operations on a wide variety of manual and CNC machine tools.

Requirements

Enrolled in a qualified youth apprenticeship program.
On track for high-school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to learn under the direction of a mentor.
Ability to work safely.
Ability to learn basic blueprint reading skills.
Ability to learn G&M code.

Responsibilities

Evaluate completed and in-process work.
Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
May assist in producing parts to print holding tight tolerances while working to production schedules.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Will work alongside team members to inspect machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices.
May assist with equipment operation to verify operational efficiency.
Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
