The Machine Support Technician assists in machine shop activities. What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you will:

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Knowledge to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Skilled at applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training in a machine shop or similar environment
  • Must be able to recognize and use hand tools such as a file, tri-blade, drill, etc
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training
  • Must be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Removes burrs of excess metal from and reduces sharp surfaces of precision machined parts
  • Must be able to recognize and use hand tools such as a file, tri-blade, drill, etc.
  • Operation of CNC & manual bandsaw
  • Matching blueprints to raw materials and travelers per the correct part number and revision
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks
  • Delivers metal parts or stock to designated work areas for machining
  • Reclaims metal chip bins from machining centers.
  • Assists in regular inventory cycle counts
  • Responsible for respirator care and maintenance
  • Refilling of machine lubricant reservoirs
  • Basic upkeep of shop organization
  • As assigned
