About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Supervisor, to join our precision manufacturing team at our brand-new 94,413 square foot, climate-controlled facility, in Allen, Texas. We have state-of-the-art DMG Mori Lathes, Mills, and Mill-Turn machines. The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role leads a team of machinists and programmers while driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and adherence to company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of G & M Code programming
  • Experience with CNC lathes and mills (setup, operation, troubleshooting)
  • Solid understanding of inspection methods and metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Exposure to ISO or AS9100 quality systems
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a machine shop environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven, and resourceful
  • Curious, collaborative, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS or similar CMM/inspection software is preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems tor job tracking and production control
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of machinists, operators, and support staff
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlines
  • Ensure parts are produced to print specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor machine performance, tooling, and workflow efficiency
  • Provide technical guidance on CNC programming, setups, and troubleshooting
  • Enforce safety procedures and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members
  • Support preventive maintenance programs for equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Track production metrics, scrap, and efficiency for reporting
