Summary: The Welding Supervisor is responsible for the safety and productivity of the welders on his or her shift. The supervisor will assign jobs to the welders, monitor the welders’ performance to part standards, and inspect their work for quality. Must be able to communicate very well, and convey any and all abnormalities to proper departments. Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility: Acts as front line for direction, instruction and training of staff Verify quality of welds Works to manage the daily operations of assigned employee(s), assuring overall quality, productivity, and safety adherence Supports employee(s) by answering questions, coaching and motivating, assisting where needed and resolving problems at time of initial contact Coordinate welding team to fit project goals Troubleshoot welding equipment issues Adheres to company quality protocols and processes Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook Performs other related duties as assigned by management Perform duties with safety first quality mind set Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with no supervision General knowledge and understanding of forming parts Commitment to excellence and high standards Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to manage priorities and workflow Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Acute attention to detail Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to identify non value-added activities in processes and work with CI to remove and improve Ability to teach, encourage, and motivate team members to work safely and efficiently to produce quality parts/products
