About The Position

Working with the production and planning teams, while overseeing the department, which operates across two shifts this position will: Lead the team of employees including, but not limited to, the Saw, Manual Mill, CNC Lathe and CNC Mill Operators Manage employee performance including ensuring accuracy, standard of performance for both quality and quantity / output of work Utilize the ERP system to schedule and assign work orders based on priority, machine capacity, and machinist ability Train employees working on various shifts. This includes the operation, programming, materials, tooling, quality, process improvements and safety initiatives Program using Mastercam for SolidWorks Evaluate department needs and ensure machines are operating efficiently Assist Machinists with technical questions and give direction Communicate company information, hold people accountable to company expectations, assist in supporting positive company culture Communicate any issues that need addressed to management Assists with performance reviews for staff Move product and equipment as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-7 years of Machining experience. Preferably CNC Vertical milling and CNC Lathe experience. Job shop environment
  • 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-year technical degree required in machining
  • Experience in quality management systems
  • Experience with implementing or working in a Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel & Word primarily
  • Proficient in Mastercam and Mastercam for SolidWorks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with large machines and parts preferred.
  • Excellent people skills.
