Machine Shop Supervisor
About The Position
As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you will set the pace for your department. Balancing and leveraging the department's resources to meet the current company needs. This role is heavily involved in assisting the Machine Shop department to learn, develop, and become effective & efficient. Supervisor's help to shape a department's culture, motivation, and environment. This position will directly supervise 5-10 machinists, who primarily work with CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual screw machines, grinders, lappers, and other various shop equipment.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US1
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must meet pre-employment background screening requirements including those required under US Export Control Regulations (ITAR)2
- Strong CNC experience including programming knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Moderate math skills
- Sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Fine hand motor manipulation
- Ability to use hand and foot controls
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years working in a Machine Shop, preferable in a lead or advanced role
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and steward a culture around safety
- Primary subject matter and machine operation expert for department
- Delegate work to department to align with priorities set from Operations
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders regarding job progress
- Monitor and develop individual performance of team members
- Handle performance improvement plans as needed
- Act as a primary representative of your department and team members
- Coordinate your department's involvement within the organization
- Assist in creation of team member developmental plans
- Identify training opportunities and assign out training as needed
- Work to develop training programs and process improvements
- Ensure compliance of team members' training within QT9 (document tracking system)
- Act in accordance with and promote Jetseal's core values within team setting
