About The Position

A rapidly growing industrial equipment manufacturer in Itasca, IL is hiring a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations within a high-mix, low-volume machining environment. This is a key leadership role focused on supporting machinists on the floor, driving production, and maintaining quality and safety standards as the shop continues to expand. This position is ideal for a hands-on CNC leader who enjoys being involved in day-to-day machining operations and mentoring a skilled team.

Requirements

5–10 years of CNC machining experience
Prior lead or supervisory experience in a machine shop
Strong hands-on background with CNC mills and lathes
Ability to edit G-code and support Mazatrol programs
Experience in high-mix, low-volume or custom machining environments
Floor-focused leadership style with strong communication skills
You should be proficient in: CNC Tooling CNC Programming CNC Machine Repair G-Code CNC Machine Setup & Changeover Troubleshooting CNC Machines

Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of CNC machinists, manual machinists, and saw operators
Assign jobs, manage workflow, and ensure production priorities are met
Support CNC mill and lathe operations, including setup review and troubleshooting
Edit and optimize G-code / Mazatrol programs as needed
Ensure parts meet print, tolerance, and quality requirements
Enforce safety, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance practices
Partner with engineering and quality to resolve production issues
Train and onboard new machinists as the shop continues to grow
