Oversees the daily planning, implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing activities of a specific area. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Machinist Supervisor to lead and support a team of skilled machinists in a dynamic manufacturing environment. While this role does not involve direct machining responsibilities, the supervisor must possess a strong understanding of machining operations to effectively guide, train, and oversee their team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manual machinery and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Setting up and operating manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills.
  • Selecting appropriate tools, materials, and machining processes for each job.
  • Monitoring machine operations to ensure workpieces meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Documenting all production activities, including setup procedures, machine parameters, and quality inspections.
