About The Position

Collins Aerospace in Spokane WA is hiring for a motivated entry level Machine Shop Operator I in our Machine Shop. You will learn and be responsible for the set-up, calibration and operation of machines used in the production process. Training provided on the job. The Machine Shop is responsible for ensuring features are cut into the densified carbon material from Furnace Deck. This highly complex process requires operators to have sound math skills and meticulous attention to detail as well as a mechanically inclined mind. Physical work is present but much less demanding than some departments. This stage of the process requires operators to operate large machines and perform tasks assigned for quality control and data integrity within digital systems. Rotating Shift: Our Operators love our 4 on - 4 off schedule, 6:00am - 6:00pm 4-on/4-off rotation equates to 6-months off every year! Rotating day/night shift every 6 weeks Compensation Built-in, guaranteed overtime “Free” hours on non-overtime weeks Total annual compensation starting at $50,000 per year $19/hr starting pay $2.25 Shift Differential 208 hours of built in Overtime per year Clearly defined, skill-based tiered advancement opportunities available 12-hour shifts: 6:00AM - 6:00PM / 6:00PM – 6:00AM

Requirements

Typically requires a HS Diploma or a GED
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
Manufacturing or similar industry related experience

Experience with G&M codes, Macro programming and editing process.

Responsibilities

You will part of a team-oriented atmosphere and interact with other functional groups (e.g., engineering) on technical matters.
You will setup CNC machines and run parts (training provided)
You will follow a weekly Preventative Maintenance process.
You will follow applicable instructions (WI, SOP, Reference documents).
You will use precision gauging tools (including CMM), verifying gauge calibration (micrometers, calipers, drills, inserts, etc.).
You will identify and document out-of-spec conditions.
You will complete daily machine inspections, calibration verification.
You will follow First Piece Inspection procedure, tools, inserts and their functions.
You will adhere to all safety policies (Collins Aerospace Cardinal Rules)
You will participate in 5S/continuous improvement processes (ACE).
You will observe and follow all environmental, health and safety procedures.
You will comply with all company policies and procedures.
You will maintain a clean and organized work area.
You will adhere to all engineering instruction, standard operation procedures, and all departmental procedures.
You will have the ability to prioritize tasks under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required.
You will work 4 days on/4 days off – 12-hour shifts, rotating days to nights every 6 weeks.
