The requirements below reflect the Machine Shop Supervisor level. Support coordination of balancing materials and tools required to perform work in the shop. Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and machining procedures to produce quality precision parts. Drive functional cross training with all employees in the machine shop and document education. What YOU will do:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with 1-2 years of supervisory/managerial experience in a Manufacturing environment or relatable industry. In lieu of a B.S degree, candidate must have a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of machine shop experience and 1-2 of supervisory/managerial experience.
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A 'U.S. Person,' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Responsibilities

  • Review product drawings and specifications to plan the production process, including cutting methods, tool selection, material requirements, and step-by-step workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance to the workforce and engage additional support when required.
  • Inspect Bills of Material and Job Orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Independently manage machine operators across three shift operations.
  • Lead and organize scheduling, coordinate production jobs for efficiency, and analyze production priorities.
  • Motivate the CNC Production Team, set a strong example, and provide training, direction, and daily feedback.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, work goal meetings, and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and implement solutions to reduce cycle times and improve setup efficiency.
  • Support operators with problem-solving, adjustments, and setups.
  • Manage departmental metrics reporting and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop training plans for all team members, including cross-training on new machines.
  • Drive completion of machine-specific manuals to ensure workforce readiness.
  • Inspect work for quality across all jobs and enforce safety, quality, and company policies.
  • Manage calibrated measuring tools to maintain compliance with procedures.
  • Work closely with tooling, inspection, assembly, and other production departments to achieve goals.
  • Coordinate inventory requirements with assembly and sales teams.
  • Coordinate and assist with machine maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure clean and organized work areas are maintained throughout operations.
