About The Position

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machine Shop/Assembly Counter for its Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, Indiana. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy within the Lafayette Engine Facility by counting production parts, including large engine components and purchased finished parts. The position is part of a global team focused on building stronger, more sustainable communities and contributing to meaningful work.

Requirements

• Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to analyze complex flow paths
• Must have good written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Counting of production parts to maintain inventory accuracy
• Help reconcilers determine root cause for discrepancies
• Proper workload management to meet corporate timelines
• Utilizing computer system to input count results and adjustments
