About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery and related equipment to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-built product. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Mobility - Long periods of time on feet standing, bending, etc.
  • Exposure - Moving mechanical parts, fumes, air borne particles, and a non-climate controlled environment
  • Noise tolerance - Occasional high noise levels

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety regulations necessary working in and around a manufacturing environment
  • Set-up and operate various equipment in the functions of cut, punch, form, or bend to create quality finished parts
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication of equipment and production tools as directed by management to maintain proper operation
  • Label part numbers, order numbers, and number of pieces of parts
  • Attach identification tags required for customers for ability to efficiently locate parts
  • Interpret blueprints, specification drawings, and technical data sheets to select correct raw material or semi finish parts
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area
  • May be assigned other projects necessary too business operational success as designated by a team leader or management
