About The Position

This employee is responsible for machine adjustments and is able to troubleshoot the problem before the maintenance team is called. The optimal candidate will need to have at least 2 years of experience working on a packaging machine within a food manufacturing facility or comparable environment.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Available Monday – Friday, 5 am-7 PM if needed.
  • Machine Adjustment Skills: Demonstrated ability to make minor machine adjustments, optimizing packaging operations.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting machine issues before resorting to maintenance team support.
  • Knowledge of Packaging Machines: Solid understanding and experience with packaging machines, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility or a comparable environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for clear interactions with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, crucial for identifying machine issues, ensuring accurate adjustments, and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, enabling quick identification and resolution of machinery issues.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Capable of working independently, taking initiative and responsibility for machine operations and minor maintenance tasks.
  • Basic Maintenance Skills: Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall upkeep of machinery.
  • Reliability: Dependable and consistent, demonstrating a strong commitment to job responsibilities and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging machines for sweetener products
  • Set up equipment and assist with product changeovers
  • Perform routine quality checks (weights, seals, packaging integrity)
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
  • Maintain production efficiency and safety standards
  • Complete required production documentation
  • Follow GMP, SQF, and company safety procedures
  • Lead a team
