Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index. Job Purpose: The Machine Operator role is responsible for working with machinery from setup to operation. Machine Operators work with manual and/or CNC equipment to make sure they are set up properly, working efficiently, and producing quality product. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2+ years’ experience with machine operation and/or CNC Machine Operation.
Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting.
This position requires use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Must be able to carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
Intermediate math skills – geometry, trigonometry “machine math”.
Team-oriented and self-directed.
Experience using calipers, micrometers, drop gauges etc.
Required to talk or hear.
Required to pass eye tests.
Required to stand, walk, and sit.
Required to use finger, handle, feel & reach with hands & arms.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience using a CMM Machine is a plus.

Responsibilities

Use of surface grinders, Bridgeport type mills, OD/ID grinders, Wire Band Saws and Rotary Grinders for manual machine operations.
Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and standards.
Complete all relevant documentation while maintaining product traceability throughout the process.
Clean and maintain equipment and work area, (6S Principals).
Perform mechanical and visual inspection of ceramics using various inspection equipment.
Perform safety checks on every machine where certified to operate.
Ensure that machines are producing quality products by performing periodic checks on output.
Carry out basic regular and preventative maintenance procedures.
Read product drawings and methods to visualize machining/grinding to be done and planned sequence of operation.
Must be flexible with cross-training in other departments.
Perform various tasks and all other duties as required/assigned by Production Supervisor.
Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan Hudson NH, EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for operating in a safe and ethical manner as well as report any unsafe or hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
Precision handwork.
Able and willing to promote and conduct training/cross-training of all employees.
CNC operation, setup and programming.
Operates all CNC equipment and verifies dimensions according to the machine print and methods using caliper, micrometer, CMM, etc.
Inputs offset changes in the program to achieve correct dimensional callouts per method.
Responsible for fastening all machine fixtures to pallets.
Loads all programs into the control and adjusts any work shift offsets if needed.
Responsible for setting up all CNC equipment using CAD/CAM/Mastercam and manual programming.
Writing/editing new programs for new production parts.
Document any program changes.
