About The Position

Operations employee specialized in operating machinery designed to transform the nature of the product. This role includes basic material handling tasks to support equipment setup and clearing, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: The Machine Operator is responsible for accurately cutting and processing materials using various equipment to meet customer specifications. Key tasks include: Machine Operation: Operates equipment that alters the nature of the product such as Chop Saw, Band Saw, Plate Saw, Shear Machine, Waterjet, and Laser Machine. Material Preparation: Measures, cuts, and processes materials according to work orders and quality standards. Verification & Documentation: Confirms dimensions, tolerances, and records necessary information on job tickets or ERP system. Quality & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards during material handling and machine operation. Maintains a clean, organized work area. Qualifications: Experience: 1–3 months of related experience or training preferred. Equipment Skills: Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment and cutting equipment. Measurement Skills: Proficient in reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Technical Skills: Willingness to learn and navigate an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Problem-Solving: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and apply logical problem-solving skills. Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, and kneel as required throughout the shift. Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs with assistance. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses. Work in a warehouse setting with moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and noise. PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes required.
