About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products for residential and low-rise non-residential buildings in North America. The Machine Operator role involves working with metal fabrication equipment and material handling. This position requires the ability to comprehend and execute work assignments with minimal supervision, a customer service and quality-driven mindset, and a high level of mechanical aptitude. The successful candidate will be cross-trained in various functions and utilize diverse hand tools and equipment. Basic math, reasoning, problem-solving, and computer skills are also essential for this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years production and/or shipping experience, preferably in the metals/materials industry
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

Responsibilities

  • Working with metal fabrication equipment material handling
  • Ability to comprehend and execute work assignments with minimal follow up
  • Customer service and quality driven
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to be cross trained in other functions
  • Ability to use diverse hand tools and equipment to perform duties
  • Basic math, reasoning, problem solving and computer skills
  • Execute assignments as given by the Supervisor or Group Leader
  • Immediately inform supervision of all equipment, process, material, safety, and quality concerns
  • Follow all work instructions, policies, work rules, safety guidelines, and work procedures
  • Training other team members as assigned
  • Participate in daily housekeeping of assigned areas and other cleanup efforts as assigned
  • Participate in problem solving, continuous improvement, and customer complaint resolution efforts
  • Read and understand product blueprints and technical data sheets as required
  • Perform basic preventative equipment maintenance as assigned
  • Accept reassignment to other departments as workload dictate
