This position's primary purpose is to fabricate parts for structural fabrication, Service Center, and miscellaneous steel assemblies according to cutting lists, shop drawings, and DWS quality requirements. The role involves identifying steel shapes, sizes, and mill tolerances, and fabricating various materials such as beams, tubes, angle, channel, bar grating, pipe, plate, or rounds based on dimensions from cut lists and shop drawings, adhering to AISC code requirements for structural steel and machine capabilities. The operator must make machine adjustments for accurate dimensions, identify errors in drawings, and safely operate forklifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes, conveyors, and transfers to move materials.
