About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable Machine Operator to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft Inc. The mission of the Machine Operator is to understand and operate machines and equipment at a basic level, such as configuration of equipment, loading and operating machines and robotic arms, and optimizing machine capability. The Machine Operator contributes to the overall success of the business through ensuring that production flows in a smooth and efficient manner and meets or exceeds the Elemet Group standard of quality.

Responsibilities

Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary.
Safely remove sharp edges from parts and material using deburring tools.
Learn to tack and weld parts to prepare for robotic welding.
Become familiarized with robotic material handling and use of automation.
Work within ERP system to log in and out of jobs.
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts.
Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures.
Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement of all established procedures.
Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.
