Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned. Requirements

Education: High school diploma/GED
Skills & Experience: Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
Forklift experience required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Experience using hand-held measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
Computer literate—comfortable using technology in daily tasks.
Strong safety-first mindset.

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate Material Handling Equipment: Must be certified in the material handler position. Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Slitting Machine Operation & Quality Control: Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing. Perform machine setups according to work order specifications. Ensure products meet specifications, record measurements, and follow written work instructions. Communicate with sales representatives regarding order adjustments or clarifications. Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.
Maintenance & Safety: Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general cleanup. Maintain all measurement equipment in working condition. Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements. Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality. Assist in lean and quality improvement activities. Train new team members as needed.
