2nd Shift - Slitter Operator
About The Position
Summary The Slitter Operator supports in the operation of the entire slitting department. Slitter Operator will operate multiple slitting machines. The operator can load, set up the machines, and pack from a slitting machine. They can complete all testing and paperwork required for each position. Job Dimensions The Slitter Operator slits large rolls down to smaller rolls in various dimensions according to customer standards. Operator appropriately understands and follows the plant’s EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and Quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product. Essential Function Perform set-up and operate slitting equipment to produce product according to quality and productivity requirements Maintain accurate documentation Ensures material meets customer requirements throughout the run Assumes responsibility for the quality and quantity produced on the machine Obtains information from the computer, prints and applies labels Accurately performs and records all required testing. Provide communication daily with management, maintenance, shift personnel, etc. Maintain housekeeping standards of slitter and the surrounding area Perform packing and material handling tasks as required Follow all company safety rules and procedures Anticipates and reacts productively to changes, and willingly handles other tasks as assigned Competencies Reliable and flexible Communication Proficiency Customer/Client Focus Collaboration Skills Technical Capacity Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a production environment. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days & hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. with a 30-minute lunch. Ability to work outside of normal scheduled hours when needed.
