About The Position

The Machine Operator - Secondary will be required to set up and operate various secondary equipment and perform associated tasks to produce quality products for our customers in a cost-effective and timely manner. Follow and adhere to safety regulations regarding the safe operation of secondary machinery and all other related equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out experience.

  • Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
  • Promptly detect and respond to visual and auditory safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and steel-toed safety shoes.
  • Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold) and/or in hazardous environments.
  • Continuously and repetitively use hand positioning to grip/grasp devices such as hoists and a wide range of power and vibrating tools or other equipment.
  • Frequently and repetitively: Bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work.
  • Lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, and climb (including ladders and lifts).
  • Recognizes potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform any secondary machinery.
  • Visually inspects castings during operation to comply with customer specifications and minimize scrap defects.
  • Complete tasks and targeted production goals on a daily basis to meet production standards and efficiency standards.
  • Knowledgeable on performing hourly checks using gauges.
  • Follow the scrap and containment procedures.
  • Able to identify defects on die castings.
  • Know the proper procedures for packing parts.
  • Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes which includes cross training and working on multiple machines as required by business and manpower demands.
  • Accurately enter data into production software and quality systems.
  • Properly completes daily paperwork.
  • Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities.
  • Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
  • Perform Process Specific Training Form duties if available.
  • Work safely around and/or while operating heaving equipment or manufacturing machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area consistent with safety, work rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties are assigned from time-to-time.
  • Complies with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs. Performs duties in compliance quality, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
