ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Press Brake Operator reviews shop operations packets and engineering drawings to ensure that incoming material is correct. Based on production specifications and/or Group Lead instructions, selects and sets up tools, equipment, and machines to optimize the high-quality flow of work through the work cell and department. As specified, inspects and checks production to ensure production output meets requirements. Makes machine and tooling adjustments to bring non-conforming output to specifications. Inform the Group Lead/Supervisor of any operating or material condition that would interfere with quality/quantity production. Performs routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all departmental tools and equipment, including tool sharpening, machine oiling, fluid replacement, pressure checks, safety switch functioning, etc. Segregates and periodically disposes of scrap material into approved collection containers. Performs all work following established acceptable quality standards. Safely performs all work, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Operates material handling equipment when moving materials into, around, or out of the work cell. In performing assigned duties, lifts, and/or moves up to and including 75 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing are all required motions of the job. Trains others in job functions as required. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
